As many of you know, two weeks ago my computer broke. I tried hard to fix it but it would not work. On Saturday I was forced to go to the geeks squad. So in the line I decided – hey why not write a review of their service. So here is how it went. the line was sort, juts 5 minutes. They then took my computer and tried to bot it and – like I said before – it did not work. Then I explained what happened and he said they would need to do hardware diagnostic and a repair. I was shocked how much it cost though. It costs 200 dollars just for a hardware diagnostic and repair. That my friends is what we in the business like to call a RIP OFF.

Look, I know computers but when I can’t fix it I am forced to go to places like the Geek Squad. I went in expecting some small bill for 100 dolars at most.

Anyway I also had my vista restore disk but it was “scratched” to badly for them to safely say it would work (It was scratched a bit but not too much) so I decided just to get Windows 7 (which I will review when I get my computer back) and then I had to dish out another 200 dollars just for Home Premium. Then the guy said it would take two weeks for them to fix the problem and install Windows 7. BUT they did say that they tweak all Operating System installs to make the computer work better included for free so I found that nice.

So far the Geek Squad SEEMS to know what to do but they are just a bit overpriced and a need some more staff in order to get computers fixed faster. So far the Geek Squad can talk the talk but can they walk the walk? Hopefully I will be able to get my computer in two weeks like they promised.

  1. I hate the geek squad so much. They wanted the same price as a PS3 slim to hook the PS3 to your TV. =P
